One of the best things about a new Pokémon game, is seeing creature designs for animals that have a real-life proxy. We’ve seen rhinos by the name of Rhyhorn, dragonflies that are known as Yanma in the Johto region and good ol’ snakes such as Charbaka. I mean Arbok, that damn Pokémon cartoon ruined me.
The one type of species that I love seeing the most of in Pokémon? Doggos! With hundreds of breeds out there, the canine gold mine for Pokémon runs deep indeed. There’s critters like Snubull and Arcanine, Herdier and Frufrou. Houndou and Poochyena. Now, there’s a new pedigree being added to the roster of Pokémon Sword and Shield. Say hello, to Yamper:
Yes, that’s a Corgi Pokémon. Game over, close the shop and go home because we already have our game of the year. There’s no Pokedex entry yet for Yamper, but Serebii grabbed a photo of its character screen which shows the best boy using a variety of Electric, Fairy and Dark-type attacks. In addition to that, Yamper has a neat little ability:
If the Pokémon is not holding an item, it will fetch the Poke Ball from the first failed throw of the battle.
That’s going to be handy! Pokémon Sword and Shield’s roster is filling up nicely so far, and already includes the likes of Wooloo, Corviknight, Eldegoss and Drednaw. With Yamper joining in on the fun, I’m now one billion percent certain that we already know at least one of the trainers that we’ll be facing in the Elite Four challenge:
COR BLIMEY GUV’NA!
