Polaroid Entering Video Game Business?

1 min read

In what has to be one of the most unexpected bits of news this week, Polaroid, the company famous for their instant cameras and to a lesser degree sunglasses and lenses will be entering the video games market.

Beginning next month, Polaroid will begin shipping a large range of video games accessories across all platforms.

So that’s a thing that’s happened, apparently. Polaroid will release a series of accessories, including Wii sensor bars, sports packs, Xbox 360 battery packs and microphones, and 3rd party PS3 controllers.

If you think that’s it’s a completely left of centre thing for the company to be doing, it kinda is – but realise that this is the same company that’s appointed Lady Gaga as its creative director, and made her the (poker) face of the company.

Editor. I'm old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time - they were capable of being masterpieces. I'm here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
