As I made my way through the introductory level, I was automatically given access to different type of weapon transformations. You will have the ability to turn your arms into long sharp shapes, that allow you to mow down enemies with finesse, and then I also played with one that had my arms turning into very large stumps, giving me a lot of strength and allowing me to go and pummel tanks down into the pavement.

The game moves quickly, allowing you to sprint right over a car, flipping and picking it up without any interruption so that you can instantly launch it into some soldiers or a helicopter in the air. Chaos ensues as you run through panic-stricken crowds of New Yorkers, taking out soldiers, tanks, helicopters and a lot of wrong-place-wrong-time civilians as well.

The other power that was mentioned earlier, is the power to consume enemies and transform. While I would like to tell you more about this, I was only allowed to see very little of the transformation gameplay.

Basically, I managed to kill and consume a soldier and then transform into him. Once done, I was approached by a higher ranking officer, who felt some sort of need to shout at me or give me orders. He was very quickly dispatched as well, difference being that when I consumed his body, a cut-scene popped up, revealing some information that unlocked a bit of Alex’s memories, reminding him that not only does he have a sister, but the soldier knew where she is.

While I would have liked to toy around more with the transformations and possible stealth options, my experience had to end there.

Prototype is shaping up nicely, visuals look decent for an open world game, it all runs smoothly despite the large amounts of chaos and so far, the controls felt predictable and easy to use.

It must be said, that in Prototype, there is no sort of moral dilemma or path to choose. You are a badass, and you want revenge. And if a hell of a lot of people have to die in the process, including civilians, then so be it. The game is quite violent and with Alex on the prowl, it can get very messy.

You aren’t a person, you are a weapon, and it’s up to you to decide exactly how much of yourself you want to inflict on the world.

To find out more about Prototype, keep your eyes peeled for our full review very soon.

And apparently you can mow down people with a chopper’s
blades as well, which is always worthy of extra cool
    points

True, but a review is only good if it is out before the game… so lets hope you guys beat the release.
