PS3 Firmware allows you to notify Sony of its failings

One of the secret functions released in the latest PS3 firmware update is an auto-notification ability for when your PS3 system crashes.

Basically when it dies and you restart it you will see the image above giving you the option to notify Sony of the error and I presume at the same time it will send along details of the error and what you did to break your system.

Honestly I can’t see this being used that much but its a good idea and maybe Microsoft will implement something similar which will tell you when your 360 is about to RROD… maybe like a nice little countdown timer in the corner or something.

    What? I never got this.

Yesterday, during a crucial point at a local Uncharted 2 tourney, my new slim froze, and I had to restart. On reboot it went straight into the XMB, and I fired the game up.

🙁 just reminds me of a PC, hence the sad face, how I wish we could just go back to simpler times. Stands to reason the more complicated consoles get the more they will break, atleast MS don’t have anything similar on the Xbox, not that they don’t need it, but we all know they would never bother checking the feedback.
