Philosopher Bertrand Russell questioned the existence of a higher spiritual being – and attempted to remove the burden of proof on the sceptic when it came to proving or disproving religion – through the employment of a celestial teapot. Much like the invisible Pink Unicorn and the Flying Spaghetti Monster, Russell’s celestial teapot is still used today in discussions about the existence of God(s).
