Yesterday, the internet just about exploded with the merest hint of a new Red Dead Redemption game. Rockstar’s legendary western sandbox has aged like a fine wine over the years, having recently been made backwards compatible for Xbox One. But yesterday’s teaser wasn’t done on a random day. October 17 marked the date that the Texas Rangers were first formed, men who protected the wild west of the Texan landscape with complete autonomy as they fought off the likes of hostile Mexican armed forces and bandits roaming an untamed land back in the late 1800s.

With more fuel being added to the fire this morning over the trademark for Red Dead Online, it certainly sounds like Rockstar are getting ready to take the ideas of Grand Theft Auto V and apply it to this Red Dead Redemption sequel with a Magnificent Seven twist.

And in the words of Kurt Angle, it’s true! It’s damn true! Here’s the announcement from Rockstar Games:

Red Dead Redemption 2 will release worldwide in Fall 2017 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One systems.

An epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland, the game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.

Watch the Red Dead Redemption 2 Trailer at 11AM Eastern on Thursday, October 20th at rockstargames.com, as well at the official Rockstar Games YouTube and Twitch pages.

American Fall 2017 (LOLYEAHRIGHT) and a trailer on Thursday to show it off properly. Looking good!
