Hordes of zombies, mutants and puzzles as far as the eye can see? Ain’t nobody got for that! Nope, if you’re looking to blitz through Resident Evil 2 and get that S-rank completion score, you’re going to want to pick up the pace and fly through Raccoon City at top speed. One of the best ways to streamline your exploration is to get your hands on three unique medallions, which just so happen to be sitting near and pretty around the Goddess statues.
Of course, this being a Resident Evil game, it’s easier said than done as there’s a puzzle attached to each medallion. To make matters even more complicated, codes attached to these statues and their unlocks will change between your first and second playthroughs. Good thing you’ve got a guide to help you out, right?
Where to find the Lion medallion
Roar! To find the Lion medallion, simply go up the stairs to reach the second floor of the main hall building. Interact with the Lion statue and you’ll get te first medallion.
Where to find the Unicorn medallion
After some decent progression in Resident Evil 2, you’ll eventually hit a cutscene in the Fire Escape section. Once done, grab the Cutting Tool and use it to open an office on the east side of the Police Station ground floor. Go through into the smaller office here, and grab the Round Handle. You can use this to turn off the steam pipes on the second floor showers, right above the Dark Room on the west side of the building.
In the S.T.A.R.S office and linen room, go to the end of the corridor and you’ll find the medallion by the Unicorn statue.
Where to find the Maiden medallion
In the West Storage room, there’s a gate that happens to be blocked…and covered in C4. To get past that explosive barrier, you’ll need to take a battery that can be found in the S.T.A.R.S office and merge that with a Electronic Gadget that you find in the Operations Room after you break the chain to that location. You’ll create a detonator, which can be used to blow the way open and find the medallion at the Maiden statue.
You’ll need to use one of the following codes, to activate the locks, depending on your playthrough:
Playthrough 1
- Lion statue – Lion, leaf and bird
- Unicorn statue – Fish, scorpion and jug
- Maiden statue – Maiden, bow and snail
Playthrough 2
- Lion statue – Crown, sconce and bird
- Unicorn statue – Ram, harp and bird
- Maiden statue – Children holding hands, scales and worm
With all the medallions in your possession, head back to the Goddess statue in the main hall and use them to open up the secret room. Easy!
