Resistance 2 and Gears of War 2 (pre)reviews coming in

Unfortunately no matter how hard we try we just can’t really make Gears of War and Resistance enemies, they don’t compete directly against each other and they are both great games.

However that won’t stop us from trying, I guess there will be someone out there who is rich enough to own a PS3 and a Xbox 360 but can’t afford two of the best games for the system… yeah not likely but anyway.

The reviews are coming in and so far it is looking good for both sides of this epic battle, first up the Official Xbox Magazine has reviewed Gears of War 2 and has given it a solid 9/10. Which honestly surprises me as I really was expecting the 10’s to be brought out for this game. Another site called XboxNewz has joined in and released a 9.3/10 review

As for Resistance 2, well the Beta is in full force and from the feedback that has floated back to the Internet it seems like Insomniac are onto another winner. There have been a few minor complaints but all in all the feedback has been positive and I would expect to be seeing a bunch of 9’s coming out of the reviewers any day now.

Lazy, as you say: No matter how the fanboys play this out, they are different games and I’m looking forward to both of them.

My two cents re. Resistance 2 Beta. I played for 30 mins in the early hours of this morning (stupid 2.2gb download) and came away feeling pretty “meh” about it. It feels a lot like Resistance 1 to me, so that could be a good and a bad thing at the same time. Spose I really need to give it some more time before passing judgement. That’s pretty tough considering that Far Cry 2 is just awesome, and I can’t seem to put it down!
