So we just saw the Gears of War 2 TV spot and it is time for it’s PS3 nemesis to respond.
I think it is quite obvious which game has the bigger marketing budget but I have to say that this one is actually sticking in my mind better than the Gears one.
The original Gears had “Mad World” which is now famous in it’s own right, I don’t think either of these TV spots actually competes with Mad World to be honest. They are both good though and this is possibly slightly better than the Gears one posted above.

I hate to break it to you Abe but I had never heard of Mad World before Gears… Therefore Gears made it famous for some people… quite a few people actually

yeah, I can definitely concur – it was made famous by Donnie Darko as that flick won quite a few awards at various film festivals

anyway, for what it’s worth, this ad is alot more memorable and well…entertaining than the Gears 2 one (I fell asleep half way through it). But I definitely think Gears 2 is going to blow RFOM2 away though

Wow… afer googling “Gears of War Mad World”, for the first time the BF: Bad Company parody makes sense to me 🙂
When I saw the parody video, I sat there trying to figure out what that has to do with Donnie Darko. (Quite obviously Mad World goes hand-in-hand with Donnie Darko for me).
All makes sense now.
