Sony has announced its store’s top downloads of 2016, and in first place for the PlayStation 4 sits none other than Psyonix’s Rocket League. The stupidly addictive football racer managed to beat other popular titles like Overwatch, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, and more:

  1. Rocket League
  2. Battlefield 1
  3. Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition
  4. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
  5. Tom Clancy’s The Division
  6. Grand Theft Auto V
  7. Overwatch: Origins Edition
  8. Battlefield 4
  9. No Man’s Sky
  10. EA SPORTS FIFA 17
  11. NBA 2K17
  12. Need for Speed
  13. Star Wars Battlefront
  14. TOM CLANCY’S RAINBOW SIX SIEGE
  15. Battlefield Hardline
  16. Madden NFL 17
  17. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition
  18. UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End
  19. The Last Of Us Remastered
  20. FINAL FANTASY XV

That’s damn impressive, but it must be noted that some games on this list didn’t have an entire year to rack up sales. The two juggernaut shooters, Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare for example, launched towards the end of 2016. Despite that, they both managed to crack the top 5. If they released a little earlier however, they very likely would’ve reached the top spot*.

Regardless, I think Psyonix should be very proud with what they’ve achieved. Rocket League stormed onto the scene as a free game for PlayStation Plus subscribers in 2015. In the year that followed, it managed to outsell some of the biggest AAA titles on offer. Sure, it had a longer period of sales over most, but it’s a pretty damn big achievement nonetheless.

Will Rocket League be able to make the list again this year? I don’t see why not. Minecraft for example, despite being several years old, sits  at third place for 2016. If Psyonix keep up their stellar support, and supply a consistent stream of rad content like they’ve been doing, I believe their racer will continue to sell well.

*Side note: Titanfall 2 doesn’t even make the list. Seriously EA, what were you thinking launching it at the time you did?
