Season passes seem to be the new hot thing to offer gamers lately, with a variety of games on the marketplace offering gamers a variety of content at a massive discount. Mortal Kombat and Gears of War 3 featured such DLC offers recently, and now the upcoming simulation racer Forza 4 is joining in on the party, with a season pass that will give players 30% saving in order to boost your garage collection later on in the year.

According to Videogamer, from October 14, players will have access to the first of 6 add-on packs, which will be released throughout this year, and well into the next one as well. For 2400 MS Points, players will get the pass, as well as an additional pack of American Muscle cars which consists of the following vehicles;

  • 1965 Pontiac GTO
  • 1968 Pontiac Firebird
  • 1970 Buick GSX
  • 1970 Dodge Cornet Super Bee
  • 1966 Chevrolet Nova SS
  • 1969 Shelby GT500 428CJ
  • 1971 Plymouth GTX 426 Hemi
  • 1967 Dodge Cornet W023
  • 1968 Dodge Dart HEMI Super Stock
  • 1964 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt

So if you’re a fan of cars which are monstrously fast in a straight line, this looks like a killer deal so far. Forza 4 releases next month for the Xbox 360. I’m quite partial to that 65 Pontiac GTO myself, hubba hubba.

Some, like those of you who sniff petrol during your coffee breaks, might think this is fantastic. Others, like Geoff, think Season Passes are taking the piss and that the DLC model – in general – has gone too far. Can you imagine what it would have been like if your favourite classic games had DLC? Imagine no more.
