The only Socom players I know are super hardcore, I guess that’s why I’ve always steered clear of the game. Not that being hardcore is a bad thing, it can however be hard to have fun when there’s a bunch of guys on your team that actually believe they were born to be special forces.
So with Socom Confrontation coming to PS3 these holidays there were 2 choices for the developers, soften the experience and try and get in more of the casual shooter market or go even more hardcore.
They chose the latter.
With support for Tournaments, Clan Ladders and Leader Boards, this latest title in the multi-million unit selling franchise is exactly what SOCOM fans have been clamoring for. Additionally, players will be able to modify their appearance through facial and physical customizations. Now as I said, I’ve never really played Socom so I don’t know how strong the South African community is but i see Confrontation has a new regional challenge mode that allows you to team up with other players from you country and face off against other countries. the game also ship with five new North African themed maps, including a 32-player version of “Crossroads.” Additional themed packs for SOCOM Confrontation will be made available for download via the PLAYSTATION®Store.
