Tecmo Koei has announced Ninja Gaiden 3 at the Tokyo Game Show. With their previous fearless leader Tomonobu Itagaki now gone, Team Ninja will still helm the project and look to make it even darker and bloodier than before.
A single image was release with Ryu looking to remove his mask, as well as being covered in blood and surrounded by flames (reminds me too much of that ridiculously difficult second level boss in Ninja Gaiden 2 now that I think about it).
Details are slim, as no release date and no platforms have been announced.

This worries me. It could suck, without Itagaki at the helm, but it could be awesome too.
I think the worst thing it can be is distinctly average, since NG has never been an average series.

Man I cant wait for that trailer!
With Itagaki gone the difficulty is sure to drop. Easy + more gore + darker tone = WIN everywhere outside of Japan.

The difficutly *is* Ninja Gaiden though. It was never meant to be an easy game, it was one that encouraged the gamer to play it better. NG1 was an excellent example of a difficult game that wasn’t unreasonable. NG2 was a bit more broken.
