The Conduit may be pretty but it’s not very good

Hardcore Wii owners everywhere have been dying to get their hands on the upcoming graphical powerhouse that is known as The Conduit.

We have head and seen many stories telling us how great the game looks for a Wii title and how it proves that even the Wii can provide half decent graphics if pushed hard enough.

However from an early preview it seems that while the graphics are good enough the actual gameplay sucks. The title is slammed as a grey, generic shooter with bad controls earning it a miserable 2 out of 5 from Gamreactor magazine.

Unfortunately the preview has been automatically translated and now reads like a pre-schoolers homework assignment which makes it a bit difficult to judge how much we can read into it, but this can’t be good.

I hate to say this, Strife, but I disagree with you. Is not a mater of stop working on the wii, is more like stop trying to develop for the wii but on the wii.

The game has not been released and therefore cannot be reviewed. Your point about its score is invalid. I have seen a lot of people shooting this game down for its grey, generic, boring story or atmosphere. In response to this I say:
    1. Let’s wait until we’ve gotten to actually play the game before we make harsh and ignorant critiques about it’s campaign story.
    2. From the description HVS provided of the single player storyline (and note that that is really the ONLY source of information the public has had), the story is actually deeply meddled with unique and complex conspiracy plot features, something actually rather fresh for this genre.
Most FPSs of today are rather similar in that they have simple plots. Halo: aliens invade for religious reasons. No conspiracy there. Gears of War and Left 4 Dead: a sickness turns people bad and they attack. No interesting conspiracies there. The COD series: it’s just in the middle of World War II. Pretty generic with no unique, in-depth conspiracies.
