According to a report on stickskills Rockstar Games have slowly been revealing pieces of the GTA V map of Los Santos over the past while. And an anonymous internet citizen has pieced them all together to bring us the first full map for Grand Theft Auto V.
Since it’s not the officially endorsed map we can’t be 100% sure of it’s accuracy but seeing that it’s made from snippets released officially I can’t see it being that far off.
So what do you think? Have they divulged too far from the original Los Santos map or is the added size an exciting thing?
I have to admit the size of the map does worry me; I don’t have much of a concentration span and I can’t imagine having to drive over those mountains every second side quest.
Mind you I feel more sorry for the PC gamers who have to sit behind a screen instead of on the couch while crisscrossing this map. What you didn’t know GTA V was coming to the PC? Well Rockstar haven’t yet announced anything but it looks like E3 may have accidently let the cat out of the bag.
Granted it could just be a slip of the fingers but I would not be the least bit surprised to see GTA V land on PC’s before the end of the year.

Lucky I have my PC attached to my TV screen so at least that’s not going to be a problem.
That does look like one really big map though 0_o

Indeed. I built a HTPC for the TV a few months ago. It boots straight into Steam Big Picture Mode, plays all games at 1080p and is controlled exclusively with an X-Box 360 wireless controller. Gaming on my PS3 feels like a journey into yesteryear by comparison.
Hardly an unusual setup thesedays either.

I still need to take the plunge with a controller. I really do prefer my keyboard and mouse (wireless FTW)

Back when I was PC gamer, I used to have a controller as well. The last GTA I played I used the controller for flying and driving. Made a hell of a difference. Especially with some of the flying stuff. With the keyboard it was just full tilt up or down.

All the GTA games are a double edged sword as far as keyboards and controllers are concerned. Running around shooting things is far superior with keyboard and mouse (a controller puts you at a disadvantage in PC multiplayer) but driving and flying without analog sticks is just terrible.

I will be getting a controller so I can jam Mortal Kombat on my PC though 🙂

When I’m in front of my living room TV, I prefer the controller.
When I’m in front of my computer screen, mouse and keyboard. 😉

Fast Travel? Hope so

It’s called getting a plane, chopper, or fast car 😛
Fast travel in a GTA game would kill it… personal opinion. (Even tho GTAIV has it… as Deon said.)

Wouldn’t really kill it to have the option, some times I am insanely lazy. But I get what you mean though, you have to explore the world 🙂
Admiral Chief Commander
June 3, 2013 at 09:49
Maybe only fast travel once you explored there first?
Umar Kiiroi Senk?
June 3, 2013 at 09:53
Indeed, as with all fast travel systems, can only warp to places you visited. if it wasn’t like that , that would really kill the game

I played GTA IV one and a half times. The 1st time I played it I didn’t use fast travel and got really bored of travelling and didn’t complete it. The second time I gave it a go I used fast travel and it took a lot of time completing all 80 odd missions, but still finished the game all in all 🙂

Each to their own I guess, I don’t like using the fast travel systems on most games, I have no idea why.
GTA IV is the only GTA game I haven’t finished to 100%… I think it’s because Niko bugs me for some reason.

There are many, many more assets in that map that look completly the same.
So don’t trust this one, as the size of that is almost equal the same size of the old San Andreas but it should be way bigger if we shall trust the plublic announcements done by Rockstar.

June 3, 2013 at 12:30
GTA wasn’t exclusive to the PC, but then Rockstar sold their souls to Sony for a while so the Playstation could get the initial releases, then M$ got hold of their souls too and the PC gamers suffered for it.
I remember having to wait months for San Andreas on the PC to be released after all my friends with consoles had it already.

I’m just waiting for the real map by going to the pause menu and discovering it here. Fans can create as many versions as they want, the Mapping Los Santos project is utterly pointless when we’ll find out the real map anyway when it’s released!!! Which isn’t long. Rockstar are too good at generating a buzz.
