The good, the bad and the ugly of the last week (14 December 2012)

I doubt that many of you are here today. Because you’ve got paychecks, bonuses, a long weekend and some silly season time off. Fine, just leave me here all on my lonesome then! I can keep myself amused! Ah who am I kidding…

Best Story

The Wii U is here, and it’s fired off the first salvo in next-gen gaming! Geoff got his hands on the console, and spent some time with it. Playing games, stroking it gently, whispering sweet thoughts into the audio port…Yeah, things got weird after that first day.

But if you’re still on the fence as to buy the fancy piece of tech, give Geoff’s article a read. By Dead Poets Society rules, it’s automatically brilliant, because words.

Worst Story

GTA V is going to cost you extra. There’s no snappy way  to spin that, and an excuse of a premium price for a perceived premium game just does not cut the mustard here. It looks like southern hemisphere gamers are going to have to fork out some extra cash, as paying more Randelas than usual for the anticipated game has had people absolutely livid this week.

And you know what? They have every right to be upset.

No. No no no no! This was supposed to be my week! I was the one with a bait-tastic headline! I was the one with a great story! but no, Geoff had to come and beat me this week, once again! Well to hell with that!

This is my article, and we play by North Korean rules here! So I’m winning most comments this week for my tale about the Xbox 360 only having one exclusive game for 2013. And if you say otherwise, I’ll stick my fingers in my ears and sing the Adam West Batman tune!

Least Comments

It gives me great pleasure, to inform you all that Gavin has secured least comments on an article this week, particularly for his bit on Dishonoured getting some challenge DLC. And seeing as how Gavin absolutely hates getting this award, it’s like an early Christmas gift for me at least.

Best ION header

It’s been a great week for bikinins and skin, and we’ve had 1-2-3-4 combination of lovely ION ladies. But out of all of them, Laura Dore I’d like to explore her seems to be the most popular this week, possibly due to her invention of using her hands as a bra cup.

Genius!

Hands down, ol’ Chewie wins this week, as Garth left a gem of a comment regarding the GTA V price, that had everyone throwing their upvotes into the air like they just didn’t care. Here’s what he had to say:

Rockstar have provided gamers with top pedigree of gaming franchises, the pricing reflects a tremendous amount of effort, quality and value that consumers will receive on their final purchase of the product.

So if the game has a day one patch, can we get R100 off?

Afterwards, Garth celebrated by playing a game of Uno against me, winning and still ripping my arms off. Well done man, I’d clap, but, uh, yeah…

Animal House! If you haven’t seen Animal House, then I refuse to believe that you are a real person, and you’re obviously a figment of my tortured imagination! I channelled my love for that classic film into a header this week, and if I do say so myself, it came out damn good.
