The Local Marketplace is still bare…

The last time I spoke to a Microsoft rep I was told that the Arcade titles and Marketplace DLC is being added as we speak and that it would start appearing over the next couple of days.

Well a few days have passed so I decided to head back and see what’s changed and unfortunately it’s not very much.

In fact that only thing I can see that has changed is that the much requested title “Snoopy Flying Ace” has now been added to the list.

That and I am not sure if Kinect Joyride was a playable demo the last time I checked but either way that is now available as the first ever Kinect demo.

This slow pace is really unfortunate but as long as we keep getting all the new titles that are released it isn’t a total deal breaker. It is depressing though that I won’t be able to show people Braid, Limbo and Castle Crashers if they sign up for Xbox Live.

Gavin you fool! Don’t you know there’s a SYNC going on?

That’s right. A sync. You bloody agent, you know nothing of Syncs.

    Sync.

    Syncy sync sync.

I’ve noticed on the local forums, if you say ‘Sync’ enough, you’re given +5 Awesome points, and your speculation magically turns into FACT.

    SYNC!

Has anyone tried using their HDD on another xbox after migrating?

I have a theory that the games you purchased previously won’t work on another console. So if you migrate and have to replace your xbox because it dies, you’ll have lost all your downloaded games.

Tried playing MW2 on Xbox live SA? Good luck. it never connects.

I cant believe Microsoft launched such a petty excuse for xbox live.

I want my money back on my gold subscription
In fact I’m angry enough to just go buy a ps3 and throw my xbox out the window

As my understanding of the service goes.

If you take your drive to another 360 the games/DLC would NOT work offline, HOWEVER should you be signed into live with the account that purchased the content it WILL work.

    So:
360 used to DL content + account used to DL content = Works online and offline
360 not used to DL content + account used to DL content = Works online only.

I had this issue in the past where I was using my 2nd xbox when my line was down, I could not watch any of my movies unless signed in to live.

yes, I know that. The problem is that once you migrate, it appears that your entire ‘purchased’ history disappears.

So then, if you’ve migrated, and are on another xbox, and online, will games you purchased *before* migrating still work? I’m not going to migrate, so if someone who *has* can test this, that’d be great.

Meh, and this is why I’m going to stick with US Server, even if it’s a Silver account.

MS Points are dirt cheap compared to SA rates, and i have every arcade title waiting for me :face:

MW2 was giving problems before migration though, at least for me. But Reach has been pretty sweet.

Anyone wanna add my GT? “naatkop”

I understand you what you mean and my assumption is it will still work in the same regard, only without the ability to re-download content.

I dunno, the fact that you can’t re-download has me worried.

Again, it’d be great if someone who has migrated could test this and let us know.

Once you migrate you cannot re-download.

Microsoft have confirmed this and it’s unlikely to change for some utterly unknown reason.

I’ll migrate my account when there are more than 3 titles in the local arcade… lots more.

Oom Riaan Cruywagen on SABC 2: (Translated from Cape Dutch)

Will Microsoft finally throw everything but the kitchen SYNC (lol) at local gamers, or will South Africans be forced to stare at empty online cupboards for months (almost reminiscent of a digital Zimbabwe)?

Will Lazygamer’s constant hassling finally get MS to give local gamers their promised free microsoft points, or will local gamers first have to buy a local xbox live subscription (like if they want to claim that little avatar pet?).

Why the lion avatar wasn’t merely given to all who migrated is beyond me (to sweeten the pot, if you will), but where there’s fail, there’s generally Microsoft!

Microsoft really gave us South Africans in the ear…I dunno if anyone has noticed but nobody on a South African account can download the optional media update, for watching video formats other than WMV……It may ask if you want to, But that is only there to grate your cheese. I had to create a false email address and gamertag and say I live in the glorious states before I was able to download it.
