Now that we have your attention take a moment to breathe and make sure you know we didn’t make that headline up.
No that headline
“The PS3 is still far and away better than anything else that’s ever been made… except maybe the 360â€
Was uttered by one of the most respected computer game developers on the planet, John Carmack from id Software.
The quote came out in an interview with gamesâ„¢, a magazine I have to admit I have never heard of, but what is more frustrating is that the rest of the interview is being held for the print version.
The only other thing we heard him say was
“It’s a great time to be a developer,” he added. “It’s not like working with the Sega Saturn or the PS2, where these are really kind of quirky, cranky, architectures that are not, well, architected, I would say.”
He does cover himself by saying his Xbox 360 favourtism won’t hurt the PS3 version of their upcoming title Rage and that he doesn’t actually have anything bad to say about the PS3… other than he prefers the Xbox 360.

So is it wrong for a developer to be so open about their preferred platform, does it make you a little worried about the quality of Rage on the PS3?
