Yes I’m late to the party here but I only just found out today that one of my top 5 movies of all time is getting a game tie in.
If you haven’t watched Boondock Saints then you are missing out on one of the most entertaining action movies of all time which has an awesome streak of comedy in it and some of the most bizarre religious morals.
The movie in a nutshell is about 2 highly religious Catholic lads who get pulled into a mob war by mistake and end up killing everyone in their path in the name of God and all that’s good in the world.
The key point here is that there are 2 of them and they never leave each others side which obviously makes co-op a massive part of any game tie in.
According to Critical Mass President and CEO, Matt Scibilia, the game is going to be an extension to the movie’s story and not just a repeat of what we already know.
Or more simply put
We don’t want to do a crap-ass franchise game
The game is being developed for the Xbox 360 and PC with a possible PS3 port on the way. The current plans are for it to be a full retail release but there is a chance that it will become an episodic digital release instead which will make me very sad indeed.
The game is being shown off at E3 this year which gives me even more reason to try and make it over to LA this year.
