Tony Hawk’s back – and in HD!

2 min read

Last week we told you that Tony Hawk was bringing his brand of insane videogame skating back – something that was largely met with moaning and groaning. It’s something that came during the #JHBGamers lunch this weekend; after the joy that is Skate, the only way that a Tony Hawk game will find its audience again would be to recapture the magic of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 and 2. It looks like that’s what’ll be happening – because Tony Hawk HD, due next year, will be a remix of those first flippin’ fantastic two games, rejiggered to be in HD. The game will be released digitally (so that Tony Hawk": Ride  board you bought really IS useless) in the first half of 2012, and will be priced “under $20.”

Hopefully it’ll include those games’ bitchin’ skitchin’ punk-rock soundtrack too. Trailer after the jump.

Editor. I'm old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time - they were capable of being masterpieces. I'm here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
