I don’t know what it is, but there is something truly awesome about watching other people play Minecraft. Well, some people. I’m clearly not the only one who feels this way considering how many twitch channels are dedicated to the game. And twitch has noticed, too.
Over at MineCon (yes, Minecraft has a convention), twitch announced that they would be integrating their service directly into the game.
“Minecraft has struck a very powerful chord with the Twitch community. Expect a watershed moment for both players and spectators once the ability to easily broadcast [Minecraft]’s gameplay directly to Twitch goes live.”
At this point, the integration is only planned on PC and Mac versions of the game. However, considering that Xbox One and PS4 will have closer ties and integration with the streaming service, I’m sure twitch will add this on to next-gen versions, too.
Never watched someone play a Minecraft adventure map? Here’s a good example – I could watch these guys play for hours the way they make me laugh:
