Upcoming Diablo 3 for consoles will mirror PC with patches

You know what’s annoying about gaming? It’s the constant bickering between fanboys. My console has X, your’s has Y, therefore I am better. It’s silly, because we all know the glorious Master Race wins every time! Blizzard are looking to level the playing field, at least in the patch department.

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition is just around the corner, with a release date of 19 August. Modern generation console owners can rejoice, because they will receive patches around the same time the PC does. John Hight, Production Director of Blizzard, confirmed over at Xbox Wire (Via Gamezone):

Hold on to your rare helms, because Blizzard just announced that future patches for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition on Xbox One will mirror the patches seen on the PC version of the game. This means that the PC version’s new 2.1 patch will shortly follow on Xbox One.

John Hight confirmed the same on the Playstation Blog:

One more cool piece of news for PS4 players: the next-gen console architecture makes it much easier for us to offer ongoing patch support for the PS4 version of the Ultimate Evil Edition. This means that as we continue to patch the game on PC, we’ll now be able to roll out related patch content, as appropriate, on PS4 as well. It’ll take some additional time beyond the PC patch rollout, but we’ll get them to you as quickly as possible

So it may not be at the exact same time, but console gamers will at least be more or less up to date with their PC Masters brothers. Reaper of Souls was pretty darn good, fixing what many people hated about Diablo III. Will you be picking it up for console?

Uhm, XBoners are not our brothers (PC Gamers). They are more like our retarded weird cousin who keeps on getting the toilet clogged during family visits.

Diablo III looks better on PC but honestly I do enjoy using my PS3 remote or PS4 remote. I have it for PC but also buying it on PS4 for the local multiplayer

    Well I am king DRM
Oh king, eh, very nice. And ‘ow’d you get that, eh? By exploiting the workers! By ‘angin’ on to outdated imperialist dogma which perpetuates the economic and social differences in our society.
    Then who is your DRM?
I told you. We’re an anarcho syndicalist commune. We’re taking turns to act as a sort of executive officer for the week.
Be Quiet! I am your DRM.
Well I didn’t vote for you.
    You don’t vote for DRM.
Well ‘ow’d you become DRM then?
The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite, held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water, signifying by divine providence that I was to carry Excalibur. That is why I am your DRM.
Listen: Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of DRM. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
    Be Quiet!
You can’t expect to wield supreme executive power just ’cause some watery tart threw a sword at you!
    Shut Up!
I mean, if I went ’round, saying I was an DRM, just because some moistened bink had lobbed a scimitar at me, they’d put me away!
Shut Up, will you, SHUT UP!
Aha! Now see the violence inherent in the system!
    SHUT UP!
Come and see the violence inherent in the system! help, help, I’m being repressed!
    Bloody PEASANT!
