Venus is a lush, deadly getaway in Destiny

Destiny might not have as many planets as, say, No Man’s Sky, but that doesn’t mean much if the planets themselves are large, detailed and fun to explore. We’ve seen Earth, a little bit of Mars and now Bungie has released the first look at a lush, tropical Venus.
Old Russia on Earth during the Destiny beta showed us an old, abandoned world where everything felt very industrial. Venus is probably the exact opposite of that, with the planet being completely different to what I expected. Wild, overgrown vegetation has reclaimed old buildings, but it all looks to beautiful.

It’s almost like the perfect getaway for the Guardians of Destiny (not those Galaxy guys). Kick back, have a few drinks while watching the local Sparrow races. And, you know, kill some of the local inhabitants, known as the Vex. These robotic enemies will cut your Venus getaway short if you’re not careful. They’re also the most Halo-like enemies I’ve seen yet in Destiny, immediately reminding me of some Arbiter designers from Halo 2. Is that just me?

Destiny is being released on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4 and PS4 come September 9th. The Xbox One version will launch a little later locally, to coincide with the console’s release.
