Xbox 360 latest update kicks all the COD pirates off Xbox Live

1 min read

If you were playing your Xbox 360 last night you would have noticed that there was a mandatory update that  you had to install. Microsoft had officially said it was simply to reintroduce the boot to disk option on the dashboard but then why was it so big?

Well it seems at least one of the extra bits included was some code to identify and block pirated copies of Call of Duty Black Ops and MW2 being played on the system.

Strangely they don’t seem to be banning the pirates this time around but I think that’s just a matter of time, so if you have a pirated copy and haven’t put it in yet then I would recommend destroying it and going to buy a retail copy like you should have done in the first place.

Else don’t come crying here when your 360 turns into a doorstop.
