Xbox, hoping to quell the backlash from the initial Xbox One announcement, kick things off with a stunning reveal of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.
It appears to be an open world setting with some new elements of stealth. A short cinematic follows into some in-game footage, and it looks gorgeous. The setting is Afghanistan, and you can see just how some of the new features will help this redefine and refine the Metal Gear genre. For example, there is real time weather. This could make things interesting as you traverse through the now open world using different forms of transport. A wild sandstorm could kick up, offering a different scenarios in which to partake in some stealthy goodness.
The cinematic and opening from Microsoft is epic, setting the tone for what is to hopefully be an awesome showcase of their games to come, as well as more details on their new console.
