On September 23, the Xbox One officially launches in South Africa. And I’m kind of looking forward to it. Well, at least I’m looking forward to imagining that I’ll have one, because not even my techno-lust is a match for a broken bank balance. Still, the new kid on the South African tech block isn’t going to launch empty-handed, with almost a year’s worth of games arriving with it. And to get you in the mood, you can listen to a lovable Scotsman master the Afrikaans language.
You know what’s genuinely cool about the video above? We’re only the country around, that gets such a personal hello from the Xbox family. I’m putting that down to our winning looks, fantastic cuisine and the fact that several Great White Sharks in Cape Town harbour are busy pooping out semi-digested reps from the TurboGrafx 16 PR division.
Well, consider the cockles of my heart warmed. Mr Bongos, if you’re reading this, I’ll get Zoe to give you a few pointers next time we meet up. Ons sal weer lekker jol, Meneer Bongos.
