Your decisions from Walking Dead season 1 may survive into season 2

If there’s one thing that I have learnt from playing The Walking Dead episodic quick-time event, it’s that I am a horrible, horrible person. Even though I insist that using Clementine as a strap-on zombie shield would have been brilliant. Decisions made in that game carried weight, and with a sequel on the cards, Telltale Games is looking to carry the impact of those choices, into season two.

And that’s something that’s going to be a challenge for Telltale, as they figure out how exactly to do just that according to Studio CEO Dan Connors.

“This all remains to be seen but we are definitely figuring out how to carry the saves over”, Connors said to Red Bull UK.

The easy way to do that, would be for players to once again encounter characters who didn’t wind up as one of the shuffling undead cannibals that plagued the main protagonists, but it wouldn’t exactly carry much weight.

These decisions need to impact on the gameplay and scenarios in which players will find themselves in the sequel series, something that the first Walking Dead games never had.

While it had a fantastic story, I’m still unconvinced by all the calls for it to be named game of the year, because on the interaction and pure gameplay level, it was sorely lacking.

Or maybe I’m a disturbed individual without a heart who wasn’t touched by the game. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go watch the funniest cartoon moment of all time.

It’s that bit in the Lion King when Mufasa takes a tumble, and then Simba is all lost and alone and Jeremy Irons is awesome and there’s a hyena voiced by Whoopi Goldberg and….
