Did Rockstar just confirm their PC version of GTA V?

We all know that Grand Theft Auto V is coming to the PC but Rockstar have consistently stated that there is nothing to announce, and have yet to confirm the obvious port. However that just changed.

In response to yet another query around the highly anticipated PC version of GTA V Rockstar gave a different response by stating

Now that’s definitely not a confirmation but it’s also not a denial. Personally I don’t see the PC version hitting before March next year and at the same time I simply can’t see next-gen console versions not landing at the same time.

GTA is a money spinner of epic proportions and no one is going to hold it against Rockstar for releasing this game on all viable platforms.

Feels like it has lost it’s appeal to a certain extent for me… Much more excited for Witcher 3 and Watch Doge… Such spies.

Played Witcher 1 again last few weeks and started Witcher 2 last night… Man can’t wait for 3. Also Watch Dogs of course looks epic.

Also Cyberpunk 2077 still looks like it will ROCK!

So many good games coming. Much excite! Wow

Yeah this reminds me I need to upgrade my graphics card most likely to be able to properly handle Witcher 3…

I am kind of sad that it is the end of the series. I just hope they make a game like it or find a way to continue the series. Would be really sad if they just end it IMO.

Or at least they need to start on some other games. This studio has the right ideas! Love them!

I am in two minds about getting this game. My housemate has it on console and it looks fun. But will it be worth the R700 so long after it’s first release? If it’s just a port, I’m not interested. But if they took the time to do this properly, then I may just be interested.

But there are other games I want on PC next year that this will have to compete with.

I agree here Gavin, I don’t see it hitting PC’s before March (at least). The PC version might only hit in June if history is anything to go by, but GTAV is a new monster and Rockstar is very busy with developing GTA Online content for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions… so who knows, it might be as late as September.

I will boycott Rockstar for the rest of my life. LA Noire sucked, & by letting down the pc community, I say to you Rockstar keep your fucking game, and shove it up your ass.

Max Payne 3 was awesome on PC (performance and gameplay) and more than made up for the GTAIV mess. LA Noire was developed by Team Bondi and only published by Rockstar. It didn’t “suck”, it just didn’t appeal to you (if you were looking for a GTA experience you were looking in the wrong place).

True that, I never tried Max Payne 3 because I realized I didn’t want to spend more money for something that wasn’t my cup of tea.

If you like the first two games, then you’ll have a blast with Max Payne 3.

I believe GTA V is using the refined RAGE engine used in Max Payne 3 which ran like a dream – my desktop’s non-Ti GTX560 maxed it out at 1080p while my ultrabook with an Intel 4000 integrated card was able to do 720p with 30 fps. It was so well optimized I had a hard time believing Rockstar made it, lol. My only complaint was that the zero-compromise high-res textures (which were seriously high res) meant that the game ate up 30 GB of hard drive space.

I probably will hold off on getting the PC version until the mods come out. I’ve been spoiled by my modding experience in GTA IV, where every car is a real-life luxury model, even the cop cars and poor people’s cars!
