American McGee working on Alice sequel, Alice: Asylum

Hey! Remember American McGee’s Alice? I adored the first game, which used the Quake 3 engine to deliver a psychological horror sequel to Lewis Carrol’s Alive in wonderland books? Released a lifetime ago in the year 2000, the game was – in truth – pretty straightforward, but elevated by its glorious grim, gnarled and wretched artwork and imaginative weapons. Having an actual vorpal blade go snicker-snack? Delightful The designer is hard at work on the third game.

With 2012 behind us and 2013 looking like another promising year for sci-fi films, its time to get rolling with a more spacey theme for today’s Top List Thursday. Women are, no doubt, the heart and soul of many sci-fi franchises but very often (and with much glee on our behalf) they tend to kick some major alien ass as …

Check out what Alice has been up to in this new featurette for RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION

By Kervyn Cloete

While the Resident Evil series of movies started out decently enough, they soon devolved into nothing more than director Paul W.S. Anderson’s personal 3D slow-motion bragging rights highlight reel, showing off how hot his wife and lead actress Milla Jovovich is. As such, you would be completely forgiven if the story of Jovovich’s character Alice has just blurred into one massive …

Last year in February we told you that EA had announced a sequel to one of the most beloved games of its time, American Mcgee’s twisted take on Charles Lutwidge Dodgson’s Alice’s Adventures in wonderland and its looking glass. Now – a year and a half later – we have the first real news of the game – now called …

Remember that incredibly creepy, but irrefutably awesome trailer for “Return of Alice” we showed you a few days ago? Despite being quite professionaly made it turns out it’s an unofficial, fan-made trailer. “Yesterday, a few sites picked up a video of Alice made by one of our fans and confused it as an official trailer of Alice 2,” said McGee …

Return of Alice – The Teaser Trailer

By Geoffrey Tim
November 2, 2009

American McGee’s Alice placed the eponymous heroine, an older, more cynical version of Lewis Carroll’s Alice, in a dark and twisted world. The original game, a 3rd person Quake 3 engine powered action adventure game was one of my favourites, and with that being the case it’s very difficult to not get excited about this trailer for the long awaited …
