Remember how I was raving about Jujutsu Kaisen not too long ago? Apparently I’m not the only one that makes like a chef and pinches my fingers to describe its excellence, as the hot new action show just scooped the top prize the Crunchyroll Anime Awards. To the surprise of probably nobody, Jujutsu Kaisen took home the top prize and several more over the weekend.

Where Jujutsu Kaisen is simply okay, it more than makes up for it with not only some of the most breath-taking action sequences ever animated, but also some of the freshest that its genre has seen in years.

It’s…wait let me check my watch…that day. Pretty much any day that ends with a “Y” is an ordeal to survive, but if you’ve got the proper motivation then it’s a breeze to kick a 24-hour planetary rotation right in the spheres and get to work. What’s better than high-energy music blasting in the background and pushing your motivation up to over 9000? Anime music of course.

Netflix is making new anime series based on King Kong and Tomb Raider as it expands those popular franchises into new territories.

Announced on the weekend, this year’s nominees for best anime include a few obvious heavyweights such as the surprise hit Jujutsu Kaisen, the wonderfully weird Dorohedoro, and furry-magnet Beaststars.

When it comes to watching anime online, there have always been two primary streaming platforms: Funimation and Crunchyroll. Each streaming service has had its own share of heavyweight series with which to tempt viewers, but the line between them is about to be crossed out as they do the fusion dance and combine into one entity.

Out of all the manga I’ve read this year, Chainsaw Man has been an incredible rollercoaster of blood, violence, and unrelenting WTFery. Created by Tatsuki Fujimoto, the series is set in a world where demons aren’t just real, they’re walking weapons of mass destruction. They’ve also infiltrated society, regularly going on rampages that require a special division of operatives to stop them by fighting fire with demonically contracted fire.
