A consistently compelling progression curve, gorgeous world, and a staggering amount of fun content makes Immortals Fenyx Rising a truly fantastic game, even if it is rather derivative at times.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity falters greatly in its narrative. The time-traveling aspect felt like a cheap and easy way to rewrite history without actually adding much to the established lore. That said, this did allow Princess Zelda to shine which ended up being a pleasant surprise. The gameplay is the main hook and it’s a bloody fun one at that. There is lots to love here if you can ignore the weak story.

This year’s E3 dropped a surprise announcement during a Nintendo Direct livestream, as the big N confirmed that there was still plenty of gold to mine from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. No release date was given for the sequel, but one reliable source of information reckons that they’ve got that window roughly pegged.

Between the quaint villages, football stadiums and bustling big cities, there exists a zone that is wilder and untamed. Appropriately named the Wild Area of the Galar region, this huge slice of land where the various towns and cities can be found is aiming to be absolutely massive in scale. How big? How about two entire regions from Breath of the Wild stacked next to each other big.

Chinese developer miHoYo seems to have taken a little more than pure inspiration from Nintendo’s incredibly successful open-world experience.

A monumental game on any level, any new Legend of Zelda title following in the footsteps of Breath of the Wild is going to have the mother of all bars to reach, let alone surpass. So instead of going in that direction, Nintendo is cracking out a sequel that’ll combine even more mad ideas into a brand new adventure.
