The Hugo Award-winning sci-fi series' fifth season kicks off next month, but The Expanse has already been renewed for a sixth and final season.

Season 5 picks up as multitudes of humans leave the solar system in search of new homes and vast fortunes on the Earth-like worlds beyond the alien Ring, and a heavy price for centuries of exploitation of the Belt finally comes due and a reckoning is at hand. For the crew of the Rocinante and the leaders of the Inner Planets and the Belt, the past and present converge, bringing forth personal challenges that have wide-reaching repercussions throughout the Solar System.

Season four of the stellar, and now interstellar, sci-fi series The Expanse is heading to Amazon Prime Video later this year. The new season will see humanity taking its first baby steps into the Ring Gate network and out into the galaxy beyond.

The Expanse fans, rejoice! All your efforts have been rewarded! After being cancelled by SyFy two weeks, the critically acclaimed sci-fi drama has officially found a new home on Amazon Prime, and I could not be happier about that.
