It’s a Hard-Knock Life – The Recession Affects Everyone

By Geoffrey Tim

The global economic downturn is a phrase that’s been slung around a lot lately – and for good reason. The global economy is pretty much in the toilet (although it is starting to look a little more rosy), and everyone has been feeling its effects. Companies have been closing, stories of retrenchments abound and all the while prices have been …

I am tired of waiting for Diablo III. I want it right now, and I think my feelings are shared with a ton of Diablo fans out there who just cannot wait to get their hands on the game as soon as possible. What is even more frustrating is that we haven’t even yet been treated with some decent gameplay …

Sacred 2 – Looking For Some Decent Co-Op?

By Nick De Bruyne

I have to be honest and say that this video does very little to impress me, that said, I am still interested in the game, and the reason is mostly that I am always on the lookout for a decent and lengthy co-operative experience. I should also mention at this point that I am a huge fan of the Diablo …

If any Diablo fans out there want to hate me for creating that image header, feel free. I kind of hate myself for even having the idea. What would Deckard Cain think of me? This post is actually supposed to be about some funny pictures made by a Blizzard artist that refers to how fans felt about the overly colourful …

Hellgate: London – Shutting Down in January

By Nick De Bruyne

It's no secret that Hellgate: London was a miserable failure. The team behind the title mostly comprised of ex-Diablo developers who banded together to form Flagship Studios. The game enjoyed massive hype and had followers dying to get their hands on the game, especially when the CG trailers were looking so incredibly impressive. Unfortunately, once released, it didn't take long to figure out that the game was nothing but a huge disappointment. The quests were boring, the controls weren't great and the world felt dead, completely destroying the MMO feeling that Flagship had originally set out to create. Well now, little over a year after it's release, the servers are going to finally shut down. January 31st will be the last day that Hellgate sees and until then, there will be no subscription fees for the game. It really is a shame to see that a game with so much potential failed to deliver the goods. This is just a reminder to developers out there that unless you have thought everything through and given 110%, your game may very well have it's plug yanked from the wall.
