By Gareth

There was apparently a big Fable 2 announcement that Lionhead was going to unleash upon us last week but they were asked by Microsoft to hold out till this week. Well it’s “next week” now and Lionhead have broken the news, Gamasutra caught it first when they reported on a entry on the official Lionhead blog that stated Fable 2 …

Yesterday we announced that the new GTA IV DLC will be arriving in February and will follow the story of Johnny Klebitz, which makes me wonder why they don’t use a simple American name like Billy Ray or Bobby Bush… anyway back to the point. Today we have some screenshots for you and they are really looking awesome, I used …

New Gears 2 Maps On the Way?

By Nick De Bruyne

Gow2MapDLC.jpg While a lot of us are still hurting from the sting of not receiving the map pack codes in South Africa, a few images have popped up on Flickr that show someone playing Gears of War 2 on a never-before-seen multiplayer map. The new map looks to be some sort of take on the whole sunken-city idea and could be one of many that are already in the works as DLC. Once again, there is no way to tell if us South Africans will even have any access to them, so maybe we shouldn't get our hopes up. Pics after the jump. Kotaku has reported that The Left 4 Dead demo may contain a subtle clue at some changes that may be coming to Team Fortress 2. There is a box of cereal (pictured above) in the first apartment. The image on the box teases collectible six-inch Team Fortress 2 action figures. It says to “collect all 10,” but Team Fortress 2 …

Rare Will Fix Tiny 'Banjo: Nuts & Bolts' SD Text, After All

By Gareth

Last week, we reported that the upcoming Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts was plagued with a particularly annoying problem for those still stuck with standard-definition televisions in the HD Era: the in-game text is so tiny it’s almost illegible. Rare’s initial response? “Tough cookies,” more or less, as a representative stated that it’s “simply something that’s too expensive in terms of …

The second of four planned Burnout Paradise updates for 2009 has been announced, and this one’s something else. Coming next year, Criterion Games will add the “Legendary Cars Pack,” and the first vehicle they’re showing off is none other than Dr. Emmett Brown’s De Lorean Time Machine from Back to the Future. Ahem, excuse us — make that the “Jansen …

Exclusive: No Gears of War 2 "Flashback Map Pack" code for South Africans?

By Nick De Bruyne

Gow2NoMaps.jpg I really hope that I get proven wrong on this one because if I don't, it will be a pretty sad piece of news for us South Africans. As you all know, a few South Africans have been able to get their hands on copies of Gears of War 2 a few days early. I got the chance to speak to someone who has already gotten a copy and has played a sneaky multiplayer session with a few other of the lucky folks who got it early as well. The problem is that none of them could find the "Flashback Map Pack" code in their Gears of War 2 boxes. Say it ain't so. More after the jump. While there is a small chance that the early copies didn't have the codes, I very highly doubt that there is any difference between those copies and the ones that will be available on Friday. If this is true, it may mean that South Africans are going to completely miss out on the recreated maps from the original Gears of War. The truth is that South Africa isn't officially supported for Xbox Live but one would think that because we get the same stock as Europe, we would have the codes packaged in. At this point I am just sincerely hoping that the guys I spoke to were just hopelessly blind and couldn't find the codes that are actually there. Problem is that it isn't really likely. If we are lucky, the maps will become available over Xbox Live to everyone after a short while, even though a lot of South Africans will need to resort to special measures to bypass the region block on all of the Gears of War 2 content.

LBP: Import your own images soon

By Nick De Bruyne

lbp.jpg A report from PS3 Attitude has come in saying that the ability to import your own images into LittleBigPlanet will be patched in really soon. How soon? It looks as if it will be available by Christmas. The function was supposed to originally be in the game at launch, but was left out due to time constraints with the plan to patch it in later. It seems that a couple of of clever people have already made a plan around the lack of the function by using their Playstation Eye but they obviously wouldn't be able to such a great quality image into the level. Lookout for more news on the patch as we draw closer to December.
