Anyone looking forward to Halo Wars, the new Xbox 360 RTS set in the Halo universe will be happy to know that we finally have a confirmed date for the games release. Mirror's Edge suffers from terribly low sales

By Nick De Bruyne

Mirror's Edge is the latest title to come out of DICE studios and has been hailed and nailed for being incredibly or even overly innovative. I spent quite a lot of time with the game over this last week and while the main storyline is pretty short, I found the experience to be quite breathtaking and the time trials a whole bunch of fun on their own. The game isn't perfect but it got me quite excited at the thought of how much more can be done with the concept in future. Problem is, I don't know if I am ever going to find out. As you can see from the title, the first week of sales for Mirror's Edge have been really bad. How bad, you may ask? Reports have come in showing that in it's first week in Europe, the game only managed to sell an embarrassingly low total of just on 30, 000 copies. Now, even if you aren't that clued in about game sales, it's not hard to figure out that when a game only sells 30,000 copies in the whole of Europe, it has failed miserably. With so many big titles sitting on the shelves at the moment, it's not that difficult to see why the sales are so low but it is still sitting significantly lower than what I had originally anticipated. If you are interested in the game, I highly recommend that you try the demo first. I found it to be an exhilarating experience but at the same time, I could see why many other gamers might find it frustrating and strange.

Konami has said via Eurogamer that Silent Hill: Homecoming will be pushed back to February 2009 in Europe. The psychological survival horror game was expected at the end of October to tie in with Halloween. No reason was given for the delay, and the publisher was reluctant to discuss the matter further. Microsoft has announced that since it cut the price of the Xbox 360, worldwide sales have shot through the roof. In America sales have doubled, over in Europe sales have increased by 62% and in Japan sales have skyrocketed 500%… Obviously the release of all those JRPG’s in Japan also made a difference but either way sales are up and …

Microsoft has come out and confirmed that Europe is seeing yet another Xbox 360 price cut this year. As off Friday the Xbox 360 Arcade will retail for €179 (R2034) while the Premium is €239 (R2717) and the Elite at €369 (R4 194) I have heard nothing about a another local price cut and I highly doubt we will be getting one*. It …
