Capcom wants to raise the bar with Devil May Cry 5 next year though, as it emphasises a game that it calls a bridge to the uncanny valley of action. To do just that however, the publisher and developer is looking to push what’s possible with digital acting to a whole new level of expressiveness.

SEGA's Yakuza 6: The Song of Life isn't just a game with excellent voice-acting. It's an excellenty-acted game overall thanks to its A-list cast of Japanese talent.

Injustice 2’s early facial animation felt like a low-budget sequel to Face-Off. The animations were stiff, the expressions were downright weird and the end result was jarring, to say the least. The backlash from that early look might have been the best thing to ever happen because the game that released last week has the kind of facial animation that would put LA Noire to shame.

Expect more nuanced and emotional performances from Uncharted 4, which will feature groundbreaking new facial animation technology.
