The PlayStation 5 may be kicking off a new console generation with less than a hundred backwards compatible legacy games, but that library will increase exponentially in the months to come after launch.
After a long wait, we finally got to hear some information on the PlayStation 5 last night. As for seeing the actual console? Ha, dream on. Presented by lead system architect Mark Cerny and delivered in a voice smooth enough to melt butter in the Arctic, Sony’s delivery last night was a massive information dump that punched pure numbers into your grey matter with fists of knowledge.
Microsoft hasn’t been shy about the details regarding what’s inside of the Xbox Series X, leading many gamers to wonder: Where the hell is Sony and just what’s going on with the PlayStation 5? Well good news, because some news is finally coming tomorrow! At 9AM PT (That’s 6PM for us), the smooth and sultry voice of PS5 lead system architect Mark Cerny will reveal details on the PS5.
The PlayStation 5 sounds sound very, very expensive. While that sort of pricing information was left put of Wired’s article, it was part of the interview, and according to Cerny the PS5 will be “appealing to gamers in light of its advanced feature set.”
For a launch title, Knack was…well it wasn’t bad. It had plenty of charm and it looked stunning at the time, but the game suffered from a few atrocious flaws that prevented it from being an instant classic. A sequel would be welcome, provided that a few fundamental improvements were made over at PlayStation’s Japan Studio. Ideas and improvements that the team behind Knack 2 wanted in the first game but couldn’t manage the first time around.
