I actually groaned when I saw this headline coming up this morning, while I have always enjoyed Flamebait postings I am just to tired for this one today. It’s the end of the year and I want to go to bed now… but It’s a biggie and thus cannot be ignored so onto the comparison. Now the last couple of …

Now there's something that you don't hear everyday

Ok, I know that this is quite a strange one and I was quite lost at how to really explain it but I found it rather interesting anyway. The people at Maxim magazine were able to get an interview with the man behind the Mortal Kombat voice, Hernan Sanchez. 1UP report that instead of boring the poor man with strange questions, they decided to have him read some absurd lines of text into a microphone instead. They then compiled it into this rather nifty little flash movie that allows you to click on the phrases and listen to them. So there you go, click on some of the buttons and giggle as you hear him say strange things like "tickle him" and "Obama Wins, Flawless Victory". It's quite a hoot.

Mortal Kombat: Teen Edition

By Nick De Bruyne

I will never ever forget the first time that I saw someone get knocked off of the Pit in Mortal Kombat II. I watched in Horror as Barracka feel to his death, the camera in hot pursuit, until the final splat when the concrete cracked beneath him as he slammed into the floor. I wasn't desensitized yet, so the visuals actually caused a little bit of a sickening feeling in my stomach. I had just watched a realistic looking character fall to a gruesome and horrible death. It was disgusting, it was twisted and you know what, it was Mortal Kombat in it's purest form. These were the thoughts running through my mind when I watched this MK vs DC fatality montage. The gameplay might still be fun, the game may actually prove to be a more than worthwhile purchase but I cannot bring myself to look at it as a true relative of the Mortal Kombat series. What happened to the good old days of insane amounts of blood and guts? How could it be that the MK franchise has been stripped of the freedom to create the most gory and violent deaths imaginable, it's what made it famous. I'm not saying that videogames should always have as much violence as possible but again, this is Mortal Kombat. It's kind of like going to watch the next Tarantino movie and finding out that it has been toned down to become more accessible to teenagers. To mention it again, I am not saying that the game looks bad, it just feels like Mortal Kombat has officially lost it's identity. A sad day for me indeed.

Microsoft will be adding three popular Xbox Live Arcade games to its Arcade Hits collection, giving price cuts to downloadable versions of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Worms, and Feeding Frenzy. Worms was great fun, Feeding frenzy was, well a casual game that belonged on a cell phone of something in my opinion and as for Mortal Kombat well I doubt …

Yes there are in fact other games coming out soon and one of them is one of my all time favourite games, well it was. I haven’t had the opportunity to try this new reincarnation yet but I am really hoping it lives up to my expectations. Well the box art has now been released and to be honest I …

Up until this point revealing characters for the upcoming game Mortal Kombat vs DC was quite a big deal to Midway. They did it in some very unique ways at the various games and comic conventions up until this point. Its sad to think that some leaked Xbox 360 achievements have forced them to reveal the last few characters of …

Akward Kombat. Shao Kahn is getting his groove on.

I don't really know where to start with this video. A couple of guys have put together a short video showing what would happen if Shao Kahn started feeling a little kinky instead of being his usual old realm conquering self. Technically speaking, it's done incredibly well, to the point that I nearly didn't realise that I wasn't actually watching actual game footage at first. It's quite a laugh and gets quite strange.

The Jokers Fatality

There were rumours in the beginning that the upcoming MK vs DC Universe wasn’t going to have fatalities, well that rumour was debunked a while back and if you haven’t seen any of the fatalities yet then this one is just for you. Honestly I think this has jumped to the top of my all time favourite fatalities list and …
