A social satire set at an exclusive Hawaiian resort, the series follows the vacations of various hotel guests over the span of a week as they relax and rejuvenate in paradise. But with each passing day, a darker complexity emerges in these picture-perfect travelers, the hotel’s cheerful employees, and the idyllic locale itself.

While it may have resulted in a delay for the film, director Jeff Fowler and his team took the time to give Sonic the makeover that he needed. Helped by artist Tyson Hese (Whose Boxer Hockey Sonic the Hedgehog comics from an earlier era are still pure gold), Sonic’s new look was just such a massive improvement overall. It had attitude, style and it simply pops in a manner that puts the original design to shame.

You shouted! You made internet memes! And after listening to you, going back to the drawing board and pegging a far more faithful redesign that runs closer to the source material, Sonic the Hedgehog is looking like he was always meant to: Fast, cool and ready to kick some Robuttnik.
