Not every joke sticks the landing in Paradise PD’s third season and the basic animation sets the tone for the show visually, but a seasoned voice-cast and infectiously terrible energy makes it the unmissable train wreck of its genre. Absolutely awful, but strangely mesmerising.

Animation has never been better, with the current crop of film and television projects helping to create a new golden age for the medium. And then there’s Paradise PD. For every Spider-Verse and Lego Movie, Paradise PD exists as a dark opposite that puts maximum effort into low effort humour. And I freakin’ love it.

It’ll be a while before going outside and not looking like a Bane stunt double extra from The Dark Knight Rises is still a thing, so you might as well indulge in some cartoon viewing about realities that are almost as bad as this one but would actually be preferable to what we have now.

Paradise PD’s second season is intelligently stupid, cunningly crude and it leaps headfirst off the bleeding edge of good taste straight into a chasm of shits ‘n giggles. Long may it stay there in an abyss that few dare to tread in.
