As the second season of Year 5 rapidly approaches for Rainbow Six Siege, Ubisoft lifts the lid on what to expect from ‘Steel Wave’. One major highlight, as far as we’re concerned, is the introduction of South African defender Melusi. She does, however, meet her match in new attacker Ace from Norway. There’s plenty more disruptive (in the best way) content besides, but let’s go with the new faces first …

The year that is 2020 may be adopting a “If I’m going down, I’m taking you with me” mentality, but hey at least we’re getting a new Robocop and pals game! Or to be more precise, that cyborg who happens to half man, half robot and all cop is being inserted into Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath next week. So far, RoboCop looks like an amazing slice of violent nostalgia.

Anthem in its current state, exists as a dream that’s beautifully to look at painfully dull to experience. With few updates since launch, a back to basics approach that has left the most hardcore fans aggravated with the lack of communication from Bioware or EA and a world that has since been eclipsed by newer and older live service titles, you’d think that EA would pull the plug on Anthem and move on. That’s not happening.

There are still those who are willing to get up at the crack of dusk and boot up their console to find him for you. People who’ll risk digital life and limb to let you know if Xur is selling a treasure or rubbish. I just so happen to be one of those people. Guilty Gear Strive won’t be launching in 2020. I’ll give you guess as to why, but here’s a clue: It rhymes with “lowered nine beans”.

We’re essentially getting several months of gaming reveals, spaced out in a fashion that feels more like a marathon than a sprint for clicks in recent years. Ubisoft has a showcase coming up in July, Xbox is rolling out monthly livestreams and Sony is…uh…going to do something eventually I guess. One name that is definitely not planning to be doing the something along press conference lines? Square Enix, who are committing to individual reveals of games throughout the year.
