Predator: Hunting Grounds has all the tools it needs to be a tense fight or flight action strategy experience, but they’re cloaked in an optic camouflage of game-breaking bugs, squandered opportunity and fleeting moments of fun. There’s a good game here, waiting to rip your spine out and parade it about the jungle in gruesome fashion, but I’m not planning to wait for Illfonic to get their development act together on a game that needed months more technical polish before it was truly ready for release.
Everspace 2 is looking like a handsome return to the cosmos that haven’t been seen since the days of Freelancer and Wing Commander, ditching the rogue-like elements of the first game for a more focused RPG system of space combat.
XCOM: Chimera Squad is a thoroughly enjoyable twist on the franchise, bringing some fresh ideas to the fore while still retaining the roots of the original game it draws from. There’s certainly fun to be had here if you’re able to overlook the occasional bug.
