There's no disputing it – The Outer Worlds looks like a Fallout game in all but name. Which shouldn't come as a surprise, given that Obsidian Games is behind it. As the creators of arguably the best Fallout game out there (even with New Vegas' misgivings) it's still somewhat surprising how much of that DNA is retained in Outer Wilds. That isn't to say this looks like a decade old RPG either. Outer Wilds instead looks to build on ideas that haven't worked out as well in past Obsidian ventures, giving you even more ways to approach its more open-ended quests.

Good but not exceptional, Warhammer: Chaosbane is a solid and confident slice of medieval melee action. As Gothic as it is repetitive in the endgame phase, it’s still an enjoyable romp in the same vein as many an action RPG from yesteryear.

Imagine you’re in a fantasy universe that has already fallen to dark forces. The apocalypse has come, given a once vibrant land a proper spanking with its armies of chaos and everybody is downright miserable. You’d think that kicking off a game with a band of misfits who are all nursing some serious trauma wouldn’t be the best way to introduce audiences to a dark new fantasy universe, but you’d be wrong. Trials of Fire is that game, and it’s a refreshing twist on the usual formula of knocking around dungeons and possibly encountering dragons.

Surviving a frozen tundra isn’t exactly the most unique video game experience, but tossing in a few Eldritch nightmares sure starts to shake things up. At least, at first. There’s nothing surprising about Warhammer: Chaosbane, but I’m a bigger fan of a game which is comfortable in its own skin and is unapologetic about the kind of experience that it wants to be.
