Epic Games’ Fortnite is a phenomenon, and still one of the most-played games on the planet. While it has a fantastic art-style, it’s not the most technologically advanced game - but it’ll be getting a tech upgrade on PC tomorrow with the introduction of DirectX 12 features.

When news of Fortnite opening the doors of cross-console play hit, Epic promised that the account restrictions instituted by Sony would be lifted, and also that players would be able to merge their accounts if they had multiple ones. While the restrictions are gone, players are still not able to merge accounts. The feature was promised for some vague date in November.

Fortnite, the biggest Battle Royale game on the planet right now, didn’t start out that way. For many, that’s all Fortnite is – but fans of the arguably better Save the World co-op campaign remember that the game started out as a PvE co-op shooter with building elements. The mode that started it all was meant to go free-to-play this year, but that’s changed.

Fortnite’s got a huge playerbase, but most of the people playing it are running around shooting each other in the game’s free Battle Royale mode. The player and developer focus on that has led to those who’ve invested in the paid, co-operative PvE Save the World Campaign a little neglected.
