Microsoft Endorses the PlayStation for gaming

By Gavin Mannion

You have to love marketers, these are normally the guys who come in and pretend they know everything about your business purely because they are very good at putting pictures in pamphlets and making things look cool. However marketing mishaps are normally awesome as they get it so horribly wrong even after going through levels of authorisation and checking… Such …

We posted a story back in September where a Capcom employee seemed to let the cat out of the bag about PS3 trophy support becoming mandatory. Well that day has now arrived… okay the day hasn’t actually arrived but it has been set in stone by Sony now. In response to a question from videogamer.com Sony had this to say …

By Gareth

Not that this story is completely relevant to us here in SA but I do think it’s an interesting one. Joystiq is reporting that Netflix streaming won’t have quite as many films available as may have been planned. Its seems a number of films are now no longer available to be streamed on the Xbox 360, including both Ghostbusters and …

New PSP Advert proves that Sony has woken up

By Nick De Bruyne

Sony have become quite famous for their strange and sometimes just plain twisted advertisements. This latest advert for the PSP is actually quite magical and does a wonderful job of showing how much entertainment can be packed into the handheld device. While it's all very pretty and the music is catchy, that tune does bare a scary (as in 95% the same) resemblance to the tune "He's got the whole world in his hands". Whether or not any religious factions would care to make a fuss about it is a different story altogether. Look on the bright side though, the advert is nice and it doesn't involve naked people with thumbs in strange places!

Why are Sony not advertising?

By Gavin Mannion

Yes I know this sounds odd coming from me since I have always complained about Sony’s advertising but it has started to become obvious that Sony are just not interested in really advertising their software. Last week in the US Resistance 2 and Gears 2 were both released and while Gears had TV spots, midnight launches and completely over the …

Dangerous LBP Glitch

By Gavin Mannion

When I saw the title “Dangerous LittleBigPlanet Glitch” I really thought someone was being silly and over reacting… I mean what can be dangerous about a glitch in a game? Well this one pretty much destroys your LBP game as Sackboy will just constantly keep on instantly dying when you try to play LBP. Even after restarting your PS3. Now …

This just makes me so happy, After a slow couple of news days it seems that we have a little bit of excitement coming back into the industry. Ray Maguire, from the black team, has been chatting to Videogamer.com about how he feels the PS3 now has a large enough install base for third party developers to start using it …

By Gavin Mannion

Maybe it’s a bit early to already be looking into the next year but I came across a posting on Videogamer.com this morning that has Microsoft talking about their awesome line up for next year, or actually not talking about. Just letting us know that it will be great. So while 2008 has once again been one of the best …
