Far Cry 2 Map Editor Trailer Just Blew My Mind

By Nick De Bruyne

I know that this trailer is only for the map editor in Far Cry 2 but honestly, if this trailer doesn't sell you on the game then nothing will. Even though I have already seen the map editor being demoed, it really doesn't come close to seeing what you are actually going to be capable of making. That recreation of the pyramids was awesome and the rock statues were super cool as well. I don't think that I fully understand exactly how much can actually be done with this editor yet but I will tell you that I think it is going to change the way that it is an insanely great tool to get with a game. You however may thing that it's nothing but a novelty. What do you think? Awesome or nothing special?

The time of the super gaming season is nearly upon us and LittleBigPlanet is one of the games that it leading the charge. This video is TV spot for LBP that has just gone up in the United States of Cheeseburgers (probably) and is looking fantastic as always. With a strong title like LBP leading the PS3 charge, Sony could very well look to gain a load of new customers.

Dead Space looking better on the PS3?

By Nick De Bruyne

Now I know that a lot of you are sick and tired of the whole video comparison story but as you may know, we have reported on this topic quite a lot in the past. We cannot embed this video, so you will need to watch it by clicking here. The Eurogamer comparison tests have resulted in the Xbox 360 coming out on top in almost every comparison so far but I think that things may be different this time around. A comparison video has been put up on videogamer.com, showing the differences between the Xbox 360 and PS3 version and I personally feel that the PS3 one is definitely the better looking of the two. While clarity, textures and framerate seemed identical it looks a little washed on the Xbox 360 and whether or not this is due to the comparison setup is a mystery for now. If this video accurate however, the PS3 is the winner in my opinion. Am I going blind or do you think I am right? Leave your comments below. I usually wouldn't mind washed out looks but with a game that falls so heavily onto it's atmosphere, the more contrasted look of the PS3 version will definitely do much better to make me wet my pants.

Gears of War 2 Dev Diary – Every Pixel Counts

By Nick De Bruyne

It is not surprise that a lot of effort is being put into making Gears of War 2 look as good as possible. Now with Gears of War possibly overtaking the Halo franchise as Microsoft's poster child, the pressure is on Epic to make it flex the Xbox 360's graphic muscle. Well it looks like Epic are delivering because the game is looking fantastic, even when compared to the original. It is quite crazy that the developers have managed to squeeze larger areas, better lighting and even more complexity out of a game engine that already looked so good. Gears of War 2 hits on the 7th of November and I just can't bloody well wait any longer.

Mirrors Edge recreated in LBP

By Nick De Bruyne

It really is quite fantastic to see all of the creative levels that are coming out of LittleBigPlanet since the beta was released (penis levels aside). This latest level created and put up on YouTube shows a level created to mimic the look and layout of the Mirrors Edge gameplay video that was shown off a little while back. The user has genuinely created a really good recreation of the level, with cable slides and all. To think, these are only the levels being made by those who have had time with the beta. I am sure that once the full game is released, we are going to be seeing an absolute ton of really cool and original levels. LittleBigPlanet has to be commended for giving gamers such a great tool to create with and enjoy.

New Killzone 2 Gameplay Footage – Cam

Some new footage of the Killzone 2 campaign has made its way onto the internet thanks to some random guy and a camera at the Tokyo Game Show. After watching this video, I don't think that it is even remotely necessary to actually talk about how incredibly good this game is looking, but I am going to do it anyway. The visuals are looking absolutely stunning and the gameplay looks like it is going to be a lot of faced paced action mayhem. Sure it may look a little like the love-child of Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 but that doesn't change the fact that its looking magnificent. This game may just give Resistance 2 a swift and solid kick in the pants when it is released. Playstation 3 owners... what say you? Hot or Not?

Quantum of Solace: What do you think?

By Nick De Bruyne
October 14, 2008

Quantum of Solace is being hailed as the best 007 game to see a console since GoldenEye captured the hearts of so many Nintendo 64 owners. By utilising the Call of Duty 4 engine, they secured a good looking game that will most probably work really well, but is it enough? I quite like the idea of the 3rd and 1st person mixed gameplay but I am not entirely sure that I am fully sold on the game just yet. What do you guys think? Is it going to be a surprise title that shows us that licenses can still work well?

Midnight Club: Los Angeles – Skyline R34 VSPEC

By Nick De Bruyne

Ah, the Nissan Skyline R34. Either you love it, or you really love it. This video shows the Skyline doing its thing in the streets of Los Angeles and while we all know that Midnight Club: Los Angeles is using the same marvelous engine that was used for GTA IV, I still can't say that I am truly sold on the visuals in this game. Will the visuals hold up compared to other racing titles out there? Who knows? What I do know is that if the game is really fun to play and a blast with friends, then who the hell cares.
