Angry Birds Star Wars 2

Rovio has announced the sequel to Angry Birds Star Wars, and this time the game will include scannable, Skylanders-like figures.

Angry Birds Star Wars II will be the first title in the series to implement the scannable figure technology similar to that used in Skylanders and Disney Infinity. The Angry Birds figures are called telepods and will be available in a range of new characters. The game will feature all new powers and the choice to “Join the Pork Side” where players can play as one of the villainous pigs.

So far five characters have been revealed, the pod-racing Anakin, Mace Windu, General Grievous, Darth Maul and Jar Jar Binks. Over 30 characters will be unlockable.

Angry Bird Star wars 2 will release on 19 September 2013 for iPhone and iPad. Scanning your characters into the game will be as easy as holding them up to your device’s camera.
