When I think of classic fairy tales, there’s always one thing that immediately springs to mind: hard rock music. What? You mean you don’t immediately associate “Jack and the Beanstalk” with shredding guitars?

Guess it’s just me and whoever is behind this latest full trailer for Bryan Singer’s Jack the Giant Slayer then.

Jack the Giant Slayer tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend—and gets the chance to become a legend himself.

Now maybe it’s just the musical badassery of the Deftones that did the trick, but that trailer certainly has me more excited for this film than I’ve ever been. The CGI still looks dodgy though. Apparently, the uncanny valley is populated with giants.

Jack the Giant Slayer is out on March 1, 2013 internationally.

  • I always watch a trailer without sound first – that way I see it for what it is, and not what the marketing department has mixed it up to appear to be – and this looks really, really bad. =/

  • Hmmm, could go either way. Bad trailer, but it might still have something. Pity the main character seems rather bland…
