Robert Rodat to rewrite Thor 2 script

Well, apparently the original draft of “Thor hits people really freaking hard with a big hammer” wasn’t up to scratch for sequel director Alan Taylor, as the upcoming film sees big time film writer Rober Rodat enter the Asgardian realms.

Rodat, who has previously penned the scripts for critically-acclaimed films Saving Private Ryan, The Patriot and Fly Away Home, will be taking a hammer-shot at the original script that was written by Don Payne, who also worked on the first film.

Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman,  Anthony Hopkins and Tom Hiddleston are all slated to return, with Marvel aiming for a November 2013 release for the sequel. Shooting starts later this year.

Meanwhile, if you can’t wait that long for more hammer-time, be certain to check out the Thunder-God in the big screen adaptation of the Avengers, which sees Thor joined by Iron Man, Captain America, the Hulk, Hawkeye and the Black Widow, in order to save the world.
