I’ll willing to bet that anybody who reads this will either have experienced an Xbox issue or will know somebody who has. Be it a drive failure or red rings, most people will at one stage have had to exchange their 360’s. I am on my 5th Xbox so dealing with MI Digital has become almost second nature to me.
Now it seems MI Digital are going that extra distance to help 360 owners get back to what the 360 was intended for, gaming. They will now collect your broken console and replace it for you at the same time. All that you have to do is is follow a few easy steps:
1) Call Microsoft SA on 0800991550 and they will troubleshoot the machine with you. If they find that the machine is indeed faulty and can be replaced as per the warranty conditions, then they will give you a reference number.
2) Once you have the reference number you can contact MI Digital directly to make the necessary arrangements to collect and/or replace the unit. The contact number is (011) 997-5000 and the contact persons are Cathy or Bernice.
3) Fill in the warranty procedure claim form and have your proof of purchase on hand for when they come to fetch your console.
The warranty procedure claim form also gives a detailed explanation of what to do so it’s all in one place for easy access
There’s nothing worse than when your Xbox breaks and you have to battle to get it exchanged so I’m sure all 360 owners will welcome this new procedure will open arms.

What if I don’t have my proof of purchase any more? Any way of skipping that step? My Xbox360 is more than a year old with no issues so far but anything can happen.

All it does is increase the confidence in the swopout procedure… The product is still a shite piece of engineering that can fail at any time without any warning…

and it looks like I will be phoning them on Monday, my Falcon (purchased 24/12/2007) has just died on me today, keep getting 2 x red ring errors and shutdowns, and yes it has been in a well ventilated position since day one and has been kept clean of dust. I blame LIPS! 🙂

 MI Digital don’t have a clue what customer service is. I have been calling them (cause they won’t call you) and waiting now for my console to be swapped for almost a month. Was told today again it would be another 3 weeks……

MiDigital are hopeless… they just give you promises, but can’t deliver. When you call, you get passed on from person to person and hold on for so long then they cut you off. Their staff don’t seem to know what is going on. When you ask for the manager, it’s not much help either, you still can’t get the console swapped as they promise.
DON’T BUY THE XBOX! The trouble is just not worth it.

I’ve been waiting for Midigital to swap out my console for 3 weeks now. Been trying to get hold of them and the phones just ringing. After 3 tries and holding for a long time I’ve been told that they have moved premises and gave me a mobile number to phone. Guess what, they just don’t answer the ^%&*%$% phone!!!!!
Phone Microsoft twice today to complain, waiting on a supervisor to phone me back.
Please, if you got that same problem as I do, phone up Microsoft and get it on record!

Been experiencing the same problems with MI Digital. When somebody did finally answer, all I got was:”they are moving”. Went back to MS international and started complaining like hell. They told me to keep trying to phone, fax and e-mail the exgange centre MI Digital. So that’s what I did…every day! I also phoned MS South Africa and complained. They could not help me and refered me back to MS international. Today, I call 011-997500, again. Someone actually answered and gave me a new fax number 011-4525565 to send my claim form. They even called back and confirmed they have received my fax. I’m not impressed.

Established today that the exchange centre is now under the operating name of PowerCare – the xbox3600supportaddress at Mi Digital no longer working – the 08619269360 number is still the same – I contacted MS international – they are unaware of the changes having taken place in South Africa – hope this info help others.

Bought my console at Musica in Sandton City but live in Nairobi, Kenya. No Xbox support around these parts, so after 2 months of international calls and e-mails, Powercare tells me I have to courier the faulty console to them and the replacement back to Nairobi ALL AT MY OWN EXPENSE. The gaming experience is amazing, but the hardware and after sales service are crap. Thank God I bought a PS3 as well.
